Andriod coming to car this year. Google joins hand with Audi , Hyundai and Honda

.In my last post Andriod coming to desktop I wrote about how this plan from the google can be the end of the dominance of Microsoft. Already with one billion users activated android operating system in mobile and media devices, Google’s Android is ready to make an impact on another industry none other than automobile. Some of the world’s leading player in automobile sector is working with google to use android software into vehicle infotainment systems. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this alliance. Noticing the need that our lives lacked true connectivity with cars, Google announced the OAA (Open Auto Alliance) with partners like Audi, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai and the chip making company Nvidia.

Extending the success of the android system to use it in car is the aim of 2014.The OAA says that they are actually providing a common platform for providing this service and make the dream of millions of people. This concept will raise curiosity and drive innovation which will help in making the technology used in car safer and more comfortable for everyone. This development will help companies as well as the drivers in giving them a memorable driving experience. We can see that millions of people are already familiar with Android and using it every day.  The use of the Android platform into automotive will allow the automobile industry partners to more easily introduce this mobile technology into car.  It will not only help the people in safety but also in improving the driving experience.

The OAA aim is to enhance the automobile sector with an approach that offers openness, customization and dependence on Android as it is a familiar part of millions of people's. The worlds of common people and automotive technologies have never been so closely associated, and this association will give the way for faster innovation. As working towards a common benefit by making this technology in practice gives driver safety above all.

This partnership will bring the vehicles into the owner’s digital lives and their digital lives into their vehicles they use. There are lots of opportunities for the Android platform paired with many other areas.

The car will be the ultimate mobile computer. With android the supercomputing chips, futuristic cars of everyone’s dream will no longer be a science fiction as companies are making it true. The processor is capable of driving so many functions like camera-based and many advanced driver assistance systems which are really going to a biggest innovation in this industry. It will monitor driver alertness by a camera set on its dash-board. NVIDIA which is famous for making chips and already made chips for more than 4 million cars which includes the newest models from most reputed automobile like Audi, BMW and Volkswagen.

While there is no guess on the first car with this technology will come in market. We can expect it in coming months. The open auto alliance has also invited many other automobile companies to join this. So let’s wait and watch how actually this technology will help in the automobile sector.
